The Senior Staff Accountant reports to the Manager of Cost Accounting.  Responsibilities include, but are not limitedto, fixed assets, trial inventory, general ledger accountability, as well asfinancial analysis and other special projects as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system for non-gaming assets and act as backup to accountant responsible for tracking gaming assets
  • Maintain all non-gaming assets in the Fixed Asset System (FAS) which includes accurate tracking of additions, disposals and transfers
  • Property tax accruals and tracking; working with consultants on filings
  • Trial inventory tracking and recording
  • Preparing journal entries and monthly account reconciliations
  • Reconcile monthly fixed asset and/or inventory sub-ledgers to general ledger
  • Participate in monthly closing process
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end audits
  • Ensure financial information is recorded in accordance with GAAP and established company policies and procedures
  • Continuously develop process improvements


  • HighSchool Diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ Accounting experience
  • 5+ years’ Cost Accounting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of all Accounting procedures

Preferred Skills:

  • FAS or other supplementalfixed asset program
  • Navision experience aplus
  • Skilled in use of financial software packages
  • Experience in Kaizenand Workflow management
  • Ability to multi-task on various projects, work under pressure, and meettight deadlines
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office products
  • High level ofinterpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
  • The ability to workinteractively across functional groups
  • Exposure to highlyanalytical and challenging business issues with complex financial and operatingefficiency implications
  • Strong knowledge and experience applying the use of Generally AcceptedAccounting Principles
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meettight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
