Reporting to the Quality Manager, the QualityTechnician I is responsible for verifying that incoming inventory, aswell as assembled products on the production floor adhere to all specificationsand quality standards. They will utilize engineering drawings and qualitydocuments to ensure inventory and final product meet the highest qualitystandards as required. In addition, they will assist the Quality Manager inmaintaining quality metrics such as First Pass Yield, Post Install Reporting,and Vendor Return practices. They will utilize Lean methodologies to evaluateproduction processes and identify opportunities for improving quality through wastereduction.  The Quality Technician I will work closely withproduction personnel to address quality concerns as they arise duringproduction, with a hands-on approach to identify methods to prevent recurringquality issues.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with Production team to identify and correct potential quality problems
  • Identify ways to reduce the potential for recurring issuesduring production 
  • Log production quality metrics suchas First Pass Yield
  • Log Return Merchandise Authorization information toensure expediency of returns
  • Instruct and Train production to any changes made in thequality program
  • Audit production processes for adherence to Standard Work
  • Any other duties as requested to support production

Computer/Technical Skills

  • Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings, assistanceprovided as needed
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word,PowerPoint
  • Experience with Quality and Operations preferred
  • Lean manufacturing training or experience preferred

Education/Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED required
  • 1-3 years relevant work experience
  • Experience working with sheet metal, electronics, andassembly processes preferred

AdditionalRequirements

  • Full time / 40 + Hours per week
  • Must be comfortable working on a computer and in a manufacturingenvironment concurrently.  The job will also require occasional periods ofbending over, reaching, and lifting objects.
  • Less than 10% travel may be required
